Archivio Luigi Pericle launches a schedule of online encounters

The Archivio Luigi Pericle in Ascona adheres to the campaign to support the arts that is spreading across social networks, proposing a cycle of encounters devoted to the figure and work of Luigi Pericle (1916-2001).

A panel of art historians, critics, curators, journalists, and scholars will animate the virtual pages of the Archives with short thematic video clips, easy to follow and profound in their comments. Some food for thought on Luigi Pericle’s art, as well as on his theosophical studies and his interest for Oriental philosophies, esotericism, astrology and alternative spirituality. A complex, versatile figure, sometimes elusive in the manifold facets of his universal culture, Pericle is lent to the constructions of different voices involved in a project that is not limited to presenting archival documents, but adds new and significant pieces to the ongoing research on the Swiss maestro, currently at the center of an important historiographic recovery.

The program, whose title refers intentionally to the ‘space’, given Pericle’s vocation for the mysteries of the universe, boasts the participation of acclaimed names in the world of art. The art clips will enjoy the intervention of Andrea Biasca-Caroni, François Barras, Luca Bochicchio, Fabrizio Cassinelli, Angelo Lorenzo Crespi, Federico Crimi, Marco Pasi, Carla Schulz-Hoffmann, Anna de Fazio Siciliano, Chiara Gatti, Carole Haensler, Susanna Koeberle, Desirée Maida, Martina Mazzotta, Fabio Merlini, Nicoletta Mongini, Stefania Portinari, Michele Tavola, Italo Tomassoni, Piero Tomassoni.

After the success of the exhibition hosted at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia during the last Venice Art Biennale, the “Archivio Luigi Pericle” Non-Profit Association of Ascona has continued its commitment to enhance the artist by completing the cataloguing of paintings, India ink drawings, illustrations and sketches, in addition to the rich collection of books, notebooks, horoscopes, manuscripts, and correspondence, currently being digitalized and available for consultation soon. The Archivio will be open to the public as soon as possible. All documents and works can be consulted by scholars upon appointment. In the meantime, Luigi Pericle is waiting for you on the Internet with his “clips from the virtual space”.
